Virgin Active does not publish one national schedule. Hours are set per branch, so a single set of times for the whole network would be wrong. Use the official locator for the exact branch you plan to visit. Virgin Active branch locator.
Official club finder publishes no national schedule; club hours are set per club. Access hours and staffed hours are different questions at a gym, and the class timetable is different again.
Checked on 6 September 2026 against virginactive.co.za, which publishes no schedule covering every branch. Hours can change at short notice, especially on public holidays. Confirm with the branch before travelling.
Access hours, staffed hours and classes are three different answers
A gym is unusual in that the building can be open when nobody is working. Before checking a time, decide which question you are actually asking:
- Access hours, when members can get in. At some clubs this runs early and late.
- Staffed hours, when reception, trainers and the sales team are available. These are shorter, and they are the hours that matter for joining, cancelling, collecting an access card or getting help on the floor.
- The class timetable, which runs to its own schedule and is set per club rather than nationally.
Facilities inside the club narrow further. Pools, saunas, creches and studios frequently open later and close earlier than the gym floor.
Clubs are not interchangeable
Hours are set per club, and a club inside a shopping centre is bound by that centre’s access arrangements while a standalone club is not. Two clubs in the same city can therefore differ substantially late at night and on Sundays.
If you use more than one club, confirm the one you are actually going to rather than the one you know best.
Weekends and public holidays
Weekend hours are shorter than weekdays at most clubs, with Sunday the shortest day, and the class timetable is reduced as well. Public holidays typically follow a reduced or Sunday-style schedule.
The December period is the most likely of the year to differ from normal, for both access hours and classes.
Finding your club’s exact hours
Use the official Virgin Active club finder to identify the exact club, then confirm its access hours, staffed hours and class timetable with that club. If you are going specifically for a class, check that club’s timetable for that day rather than a national one.
