Gelmar stores are hardware and home improvement destinations, and their trading pattern reflects that. Saturday mornings are the busiest period of the week, while weekday evenings close earlier than a supermarket in the same area.
If a project depends on getting a part today, going in the morning is more reliable than assuming an evening trip will work.
Saturday and Sunday trading
Saturday closing is typically early afternoon rather than evening, and Sunday hours are shorter again where the store trades at all. Both are set per store rather than nationally.
Sunday is the day worth confirming before travelling, since a closed hardware store on a Sunday is a common way for a weekend project to stall.
Public holidays and special trading
Public holiday hours replace the regular schedule for that date. Hardware and home improvement retailers more often close or shorten hours on public holidays than food retailers do, so a long weekend is exactly when a store is least likely to keep normal times.
