SARS publishes one schedule for all branches: weekdays 08:00 to 16:00, opening later at 09:00 on Wednesdays. This branch relocated from the temporary Alberton City Mall office to the Alberton campus, which opened on 26 February 2024. SARS encourages booking an appointment before visiting.

The Alberton branch is not where it used to be. SARS closed the temporary branch office in Alberton City Mall on 23 February 2024 and opened the Alberton campus on 26 February 2024. The current address is shown above.

Wednesdays open an hour later
The hours above are the SARS branch schedule, which applies across the branch network rather than being set locally. The exception worth remembering is Wednesday: branches open at 09:00 rather than 08:00, closing at 16:00 as usual.
Branches do not trade on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.
Book before you travel
SARS encourages booking an appointment rather than arriving unannounced, specifically to avoid queueing at the branch. You can book through the SARS online appointment system, through the SARS MobiApp, or by sending an SMS with the word Booking and your ID number to 47277.
Virtual appointments are also offered. If your matter can be handled remotely, that removes both the trip and the queue, and it is not tied to which branch is closest to you.
If Alberton cannot take you when you need it, SARS suggests booking at an alternative branch rather than waiting, so widening the search is often faster than holding out for the nearest one.
