Tsogo Sun's official Theme Park page states: open Thursday to Sunday 09h00-17h00, closed Monday to Wednesday, with hours subject to change over school and public holidays. No entry after 16h00; re-entry hand stamps only between 09h30 and 15h45; tickets are not sold at the Theme Park entrance. The Underground Mine Tour runs 09h00-15h00.

Four days a week, not seven
Gold Reef City Theme Park runs Thursday to Sunday, 09h00 to 17h00, and is closed Monday to Wednesday. Tsogo Sun states this on the park’s own page. It is the single most important thing to know before driving there, because a theme park that is dark for three days of every week is unusual and catches people out.
School holidays and public holidays are the exception. The operator says hours may change over those periods, which in practice means the park opens on days it would normally be closed.
The operator’s own pages disagree about Wednesday
The theme park page says the park is closed Monday to Wednesday. Tsogo Sun’s Gold Reef City terms and conditions say it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except during school or public holidays. Those two official statements do not match.
The schedule above follows the theme park page, which is the more specific and more current of the two. If your trip depends on a Wednesday, phone ahead rather than trusting either page.
The gate closes an hour before the park does
No entry is permitted after 16h00, even though the park runs to 17h00. Arriving at half past four does not get you a short visit; it gets you turned away. Treat 16h00 as the real deadline.
The same window governs re-entry: if you want to leave and come back the same day, your hand must be stamped at the Main Entrance, and stamps are only issued between 09h30 and 15h45.
Buy before you arrive
Tickets are not sold at the entrance to the Theme Park. Turning up expecting to pay at the gate is the second way people lose a day out. Buy online or through the official channels before travelling.
Open does not mean every ride is running
Rides and attractions can close individually, and the operator closes them when weather makes them unsafe. Availability of attractions is explicitly subject to change without notice. A windy or wet day can leave the park open and the thrill rides idle.
The mine tour runs on its own clock
The Underground Mine Tour is conducted between 09h00 and 15h00 and takes about two hours. If the tour is the reason for the visit, that window is tighter than the park’s and is what you should plan around.
