Cake Zone does not publish one national schedule. Hours are set per branch, so a single set of times for the whole network would be wrong. Use the official locator for the exact branch you plan to visit. Cake Zone branch locator.
Cake Zone's official branches page lists 31 branches, each with address, phone, email and full trading hours. Verified by counting: all 31 publish a 'Sunday & Holiday' session and none is marked closed on any day. Mon-Fri opening is 08h00 or 09h00 with closing at 18h00 or 19h00; Sunday/holiday closing ranges 13h00-16h00. No single national schedule applies, so no _oh_hours was written.
Checked on 6 September 2026 against cakezone.co.za, which publishes no schedule covering every branch. Hours can change at short notice, especially on public holidays. Confirm with the branch before travelling.
Open seven days, and on public holidays too
Cake Zone is one of the few South African retail chains where every branch trades on Sundays and public holidays. All 31 branches listed on its own site publish a Sunday and holiday session, and not one is marked closed on any day of the week.
For a cake shop that is the whole point: the days you most need a cake are exactly the days most shops are shut.
There is no single national schedule
Hours differ branch by branch, which is why no table appears above. Most branches run Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm, but several open at 8am, and a few trade to 7pm. Saturday closing ranges across the network, and Sunday and holiday closing runs anywhere from 1pm to 4pm.
The pattern is consistent enough to plan around and variable enough that you should check your branch.
Sunday is the short day everywhere
Across the network, Sunday and public holiday hours are the tightest of the week, typically starting at 8am or 9am and finishing early in the afternoon. If you are collecting a cake for a Sunday event, collect it in the morning.
Every branch publishes its own number
Cake Zone lists a separate phone number and email for each branch rather than routing through a call centre. For a custom order, that is the number that matters, because the person answering is at the counter that will make it.
The branches are in malls
Cake Zone trades from shopping centres across Gauteng and beyond, including Maponya Mall in Soweto, Pan Africa in Alexandra, Daveyton Mall, Tembisa Mall, Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal and Soshanguve. A branch cannot open before its centre does, so centre hours cap the shop’s on holidays.
Custom cakes run on lead time, not opening hours
A decorated or custom cake needs to be ordered ahead. The shop being open does not mean the cake can be made today, so the useful question to ask the branch is the lead time rather than the closing time.
