Tile and bathroom retail runs on trade hours

CTM serves builders and contractors as well as homeowners, and its hours reflect that. Stores generally open early on weekdays for trade customers and close earlier in the evening than a general retailer in the same area.

Saturday mornings are the busiest retail period of the week. Saturday closing is typically early afternoon, and Sunday trading is limited or unavailable at many stores.

Collection is not the same as browsing

Tiles, sanitaryware and building materials are bulky, and collection usually happens from a yard or warehouse area rather than the showroom floor. That side of the store can close before the showroom does.

If you are collecting an order rather than choosing one, confirm the collection cut-off specifically. Arriving before the showroom closes does not guarantee someone can load your order.

Public holidays and long weekends

Public holiday hours replace the regular schedule for that date. Home improvement retailers more often close or shorten hours on public holidays than food retailers do, which matters because long weekends are exactly when people take on projects.

Confirm before travelling rather than assuming a long weekend means extended trading.

Finding your store’s exact hours

Use the official CTM store finder to identify the exact store and its address, then confirm its hours with that store directly. Match by address rather than suburb, since larger metros have several stores with separately set hours.

Why this page does not list one set of hours

CTM does not publish one national trading schedule. Store hours are set individually, so a single figure here would be wrong for most branches.
