Builders Warehouse Operating Hours
Trading hours
Builders Warehouse does not publish one national schedule. Hours are set per branch, so a single set of times for the whole network would be wrong. Use the official locator for the exact branch you plan to visit. Builders Warehouse branch locator.
Builders' official store locator lists Builders Warehouse, Builders Express and Builders SuperStore branches, and each store's detail panel publishes full per-day trading hours plus telephone. Sampled Builders Warehouse Strubensvalley: Mon-Fri 07:00-18:00, Sat 07:00-17:00, Sun 08:00-16:00. No national schedule is published.
Checked on 6 September 2026 against builders.co.za, which publishes no schedule covering every branch. Hours can change at short notice, especially on public holidays. Confirm with the branch before travelling.
Note on the times below. The written guidance further down this page mentions specific times. Those were not confirmed by the source check above and may be out of date. Treat the official locator as authoritative.
Builders publishes hours for every store, but not one national schedule
Builders runs an official store locator that gives each branch’s trading hours, address and phone number. There is no single Builders Warehouse schedule, because hours are set store by store, which is why no table appears above.
The pattern is a long weekday and a seven-day week. Builders Warehouse Strubensvalley, for example, trades Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:00, Saturday 07:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 08:00 to 16:00. Your branch will be close to that, not identical.
Warehouse, Express and SuperStore are different formats
The locator lists Builders Warehouse, Builders Express and Builders SuperStore side by side. Express stores are smaller neighbourhood shops, warehouses and superstores carry the full building range. They keep different hours and stock different things, so confirm the format as well as the suburb.
Searching for a Builders near you will return all three.
Trade customers start early
A 07:00 opening exists because contractors and tradespeople collect materials before a working day starts. That first hour is the busiest for building materials and the quietest for everything else.
Building materials are not a last-minute errand
Yards handling sand, stone, cement and timber often stop loading before the store’s stated closing time, because a load takes time to pull and check. If you are collecting bulk materials rather than browsing, treat the closing time as an hour earlier than published.
Sunday is the short day
Where a branch trades on Sunday it typically opens later and closes several hours earlier than on a weekday. Public holidays vary by branch and are worth a phone call rather than an assumption.
Where to check
Builders’ own store locator lists every branch, and opening a store’s details shows its full trading hours and telephone number.
